THE GREAT MAN

When Ayatollah Boroujerdi was the highest ranking clergy in Qom, the Imam was the second top lecturer on divinity in the holy city. His students were welLknown for their mastery of the knowledge and almost all of them reached high clerical ranks later. After Ayatollah Boroujerdi's demise the Imam was one of only a dozen clergies that were nominated for the high clerical order. But he was unwilling to be known as such as that time, recalls Hojatoleslam Emam Jamarani one of the Imam's pupils. On that time Imam as the only top cleric who did not conceal his opposition against the Shah's regime. Emam Jamarani went to see the Imam with his father, when the Imam was released from a prison term he had to serve following his protest against the idea of provincial societies. He speaks on How Imam decided to stay in Jamaran neighborhood.
Following his heart problem a few months after the victory of Islamic revolution the Imam was hospitalized in Tehran for a couple of months. After he was discharged from the hospital he stayed at a house in Darband area in northern Tehran for four months. But he did not like that house because its appearance was too luxurious. Then he threatened that he would go to Qom if a suitable place was not found for him. The doctors had aid that the Imam should not live in Qom in order to avoid being exposed to the city's bad weather. Then his son Ahmad and I began to look for a house in Jamaran area. Then I suggested that if the Imam liked our house we could make it a little bigger by attaching those of my brother and sister. They said they would accept the idea if Mrs. Khomeini liked the house. She did not like the house very much but knew that the Imam will like it. So she gave her approval and we began to do minor repairs and finally the Imam moved to that house .on the 19th of May 1980 The Imam liked the place very much and expressed his satisfaction in various occasions adding that the previous place was not suitable. Although the house did not match the Imam's status, yet he was happy with that. In a speech to his neighbors the Imam said: "We have become your neighbor and that will cause trouble for you." Although the house was chosen in a matter of one day with no prior planning, a couple of days later the Voice of America said that the Imam has moved to a place where air raids were absolutely impossible. But no one had ever thought of this as a factor in choosing the house for the great leader.
After sometime, thee army began to build a helicopter pad for the emergency landing of helicopters and taking the Imam to a safe place if something serious happened. As soon as the Imam found out about this he expressed his dissatisfaction and the work was immediately stopped.
When the war broke out the army engineering unit built a bomb shelter so that the Imam could go there at the time of air raids. Again the Imam said: "Do not build it because I shall not go in this place!" This time they built it but the Imam never went there even for once. A year later when the Nojeh Coup was launched the officials urged the Imam to leave the house for one night as his life was in danger. places near the Imam's house. but he never showed any sign of fear or worry. When he was asked to go to the bomb shelter, he said that he wanted to stay in the open like the soldier who was on guard outside the house. He insisted that there was no difference between his life and that of the soldier.
The Imam even faced death with the same certainty. In one of his last days, a close relative of his told him: "It's nothing. You will get better." And the Imam said that birth and death were not so important.
The Imam stayed in that house for several years and never went out of it. He was very modest. Most of the time he remained silent. He spoke only when it was really necessary. And when he spoke, it was brief and calculated. Most of the time he was thinking. He observed a certain order and discipline in his daily life. He was always on time for everything particularly for his classes. He always listened attentively to what others said and this gave a certain sense of confidence to anyone who spoke. He was a very intelligent man and knew what others thought.
And when it came to the issue of burial, based on his father's views, his son determined that the burial place should be close to the graves of the martyrs, and at the same time, it must be a place that could accommodate all those who came for the funeral. And so was the site of his tomb chosen.

Maar diya jaaye ki chod diya jaaye

When it comes to Kasab, this is a no brainer you would say. Maar diya jaaye. One of the few terrorists in the world who was caught alive, Ajmal Amir Kasab has now been in jail for around 2 years . And in this period he has been a living, breathing, unscathed reminder of the horrors of the most dramatic terror attack in the history of the world. As I write this, the Mumbai police is in deep discussion with journalists of the city to provide for unhitched and secure media coverage. Security has been increased near the Arthur Road Jail complex and by Monday there will be many more road diversions and restrictions around the area. Newsrooms are abuzz with discussions on how to carry the story, who would follow it and who are the talking heads to consult about this trial. The trial itself went through a lot of twists and turns. First there was no lawyer and the late Shahid Azmi had said that Kasab should be hanged without trial after declaring him a state enemy. Then a little known Anjali Waghmare came in, was spooked out by the Sena and enter one angel Abbas Kazmi, he save kasab life

Stay on warrant against actor Sunny Deol extended

MUMBAI: A lower court has extended till November 20 its stay on a warrant issued against filmstar Sunny Deol for alleged bouncing of cheques that he
had given to a city-based company for purchases made by him in 2002. The actor's lawyer on October 30 urged a Bandra Magistrate to extend the stay on the warrant as Deol had gone out of city for a film shoot. The complainant's lawyer Abbas Kazmi opposed the stay and prayed for issuance of warrant against the actor. Deol had earlier appeared before the court which refused to quash the warrant but stayed its execution till October end. Deol had purchased film making material from Photo Film Industries and had given them five cheques totalling upto Rs 3 crore. The cheques, however, bounced forcing the company to lodge a complaint with Bandra court under Section 138 of Indian Negotiable Instruments Act. The court had issued warrants against the star but had later stayed several times after Deol prayed for the same. Deol moved the court for the quashing of the warrant but complainant's lawyer Abbas Kazmi opposed it saying that Deol had failed to appear in the court in the past and had also failed to make the payment.

Terrorists of outlawed Wahhabi Organization taking the benefit of ongoing target killing in Karachi on Thursday morning martyred two Shia youths at Bhukkar Goth, Abul-Hassan Isphani Road Karachi.
Police officials were suspecting their killing as a result of sectarian violence.
The eye-witnesses said that the armed terrorists killed the Two Shia youths Nasir Hussain, 26 and Rashid, 27, when they were returning from the Abbas Town to their homes at Bhukkar Goth near at 3:30 am.
The area people informed that the large number of terrorists belongs from outlawed terrorists’ organizations including Sipah-e-Sahaba and Laskar-e-Jhangvi hiding at Bhukkar Goth area, known as the Taliban Chowk of Bhukkar Goth.
They informed that Nasir Hussain was the custodian of Imam Bargah Wali ul Asr at Bhukkkar Goth, and the terrorists of outlawed organizations were threatened the Nasir Hussain not to setup the Imam Bargah at this area.
It is pertaining to mention here that both Nasir Hussain and Mohammad Rashid were returning their homes at Bhukkar Goth Abul Hassan Isphani Road, after attending the Majlis of the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima Zehra (sa) at Abbas Town.
However, Funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza)of Shaheed Nasir Abbas, who was shot martyred by yazidi terrorists on Thursday morning on 20th May 2010, was held at Jamia Mosque Mustafa Abbas Town Abul Hassan Isphani Road, Karachi.
People from all walks of life and different sect have attended the funeral prayer. While body of Shaheed Nasir Abbas was laid in Wadiya-e-Hussain graveyard.
The mayhem continues of the Notorious Gang fuelling the hatred among the sectarian rivals, targeting innocent bystanders and intellectuals; in particular of the Shiite community.
Government officials remain allay and no statement has been issued as yet. This whole year, since the heartrending incidences of Aashura and Arba’een our community lives on false pretence; an environment where security is never compromised. Yes! It remains a housemaid to elites enrolled in government enjoying the benefits of security protocols beyond imagination; whereas citizens remain too stressed with financial concerns, load shedding, outrageous prices of utilities, etc.
All issues pending are concealed with petty issues for populace to fondle over for months to come with justice molested under heaps of files.

Its not done. There should be minimum decorum in the house of law. No doubt Mr Azmi was defending a terrorist. He has not taken up Kasab’s case on his own will. How can a fellow advocate behave in such a manner ? This is shame on democracy.

26/11 trial: Kasab's lawyer Abbas Kazmi removed

Mumbai: Mumbai attacker Ajmal Amir Kasab's lawyer SG Abbas Kazmi has been sacked as 26/11 attackers defence lawyer by special court on Monday. Special court Judge ML Tahaliyani said that he has been removed due to his non -cooperative attitude.
Kasab's lawyer Kazmi had already been pulled up by Judge Tahaliyani on November 26 after he said that he was not bothered about affidavits of witnesses filed by the prosecution.Kazmi then apologised for his remarks the next day after speaking to Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. He then appeared before Judge Tahaliyani and apologised.
The Judge had then decided to let Kazmi continue as Kasab's lawyer in the interest for a speedy trial. It was also decided not to keep remarks made by Kazmi on Thursday on the record.The lone surviving terrorist involved in the 26/11 attacks, Kasab, is being tried at a special cell inside the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai.
